Lies can also help. If you've actually got a lamp, disconnect it then get the
singer to do some run-throughs and don't tell him you're actually recording
them.

Booze, drugs, nudity, his girlfriend's affections, lighting, perfume,
heat/cold, making it so he can't be seen by anyone else...
These might appear weird, but they've all been done by many of the greats,
