KevinHow do you juggle amongst the different takes using the playlists? How do you tell ProTools to play bar 1 from take 1 bar 4 from take 2...

I was thinking about this earlier. Pro Tools has these things called Playlists, which allow you to organize your clips according to take. Onceyou have all you're takes, you just juggle between playlists for each peaceyou want to comp. As a new sonar user, I'm exploring the idea of reallynailing the whole concept of how to use the clips pane so that you can grabdifferent clips all on one track, instead of comping 3 tracks together. Iwould think that the clips pane might be A more concise and organized way ofcomping, but I haven't really sat down and explored it yet. That is one of my goals this year. Just some thoughts. -----Original Message-----From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] OnBehalf Of HF Sent: Monday, March 09, 2009 8:11 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] comping vocal takesI wanted to hear what others did for comping different vocal takes into onecohesive track. Copying and paste seems to work well, except that it doesn't take intoaccount the different volume levels that you may have on respective tracks. How do you deal with that?Do you guys have better success with normalizing before copying and pasting, normalizing the different sections or automating after the fact?
