I was thinking about this earlier. Pro Tools has these things called Playlists, which allow you to organize your clips according to take. Once you have all you're takes, you just juggle between playlists for each peace you want to comp. As a new sonar user, I'm exploring the idea of really nailing the whole concept of how to use the clips pane so that you can grab different clips all on one track, instead of comping 3 tracks together. I would think that the clips pane might be A more concise and organized way of comping, but I haven't really sat down and explored it yet. That is one of my goals this year. Just some thoughts. -----Original Message----- From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of HF Sent: Monday, March 09, 2009 8:11 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] comping vocal takes I wanted to hear what others did for comping different vocal takes into one cohesive track. Copying and paste seems to work well, except that it doesn't take into account the different volume levels that you may have on respective tracks. How do you deal with that? Do you guys have better success with normalizing before copying and pasting, normalizing the different sections or automating after the fact? HF PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
