Here's what I do. Peak normalise all the vocal tracks to minus 0.1 DB. Then, find the best vocal take, Clone it. Then archive the original track. Go through the best vocal take on the cloned track and locate lines that I don't like and replace them by copying and pasting from other takes in the project.

I wanted to hear what others did for comping different vocal takes into one cohesive track. Copying and paste seems to work well, except that it doesn't take into account the different volume levels that you may have on respective tracks. How do you deal with that? Do you guys have better success with normalizing before copying and pasting, normalizing the different sections or automating after the fact?HF PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
