Hi Chris. Sound Forge Audio Studio 9, the light edition $70 version of Sound Forge 9 came on disc in the box with my Sony PCM D-50 recorder. I had forgotten all about it until Gold Wave wasn't doing what I wanted anymore.

Thanks for the advice. My computer is all backed up on a 400 gig portable drive including stable settings for Windows. This is not my data drive which is inside the tower and contains almost a taribite of space. I did it as soon as I had everything installed and working and I will probably do it again once a month or so.
Bob.

Hi Bob. Which version of Sound Forge do you have?

By the way, for piece of mind, you may wish to get yourself a USB
bus-powered external drive, then a backup program like
Casper. That would clone your C: drive automatically, and if you
can boot from an external drive with your computer, you can boot
from the clone if your solidstate drive ever fails again.
