Hi

I couldn't agree more.

If your blind mates and their mates are the only ones going to be seeing it that's fine, but if you want a global audience, a bit more effort and attention to asthetics is needed.

Cheers

Your page might read well with Jaws, but that doesn't mean that you're
on the right track. Sighted people tell me that most pages that blind
people make by hand look like text terminals from the 1980's. This is
because most blind people have no conceptualization about how to use
different fonts, colors, or layouts other than the standard flow layouts
in HTML (headings, paragraphs, etc). Plus, without some basic use of
backgrounds and icons, your page looks like it came from the 1990's.

That is why these pre-rolled web site systems are a good thing. They
make you actually seem like you know what looks good. Even their generic
form letter templates, the same templates that are used by thousands of
other web sites, look better than what most blind people will assemble.

I created my own web site myself.
You just need to know html code.
Its not hard and a blind person can do it his self.
You can check out my website at:
http://www.markdew.com
After you load the page, you can check out the code by going to the view
menu of your browser and arrow down
to source press enter.
Here you can view the code that makes up my main web page.

some
of it is java-based, and jaws won't work with it. Any simpler
suggestions?
