Because of pronunciation. The 'of' is not pronounced like the word of. In
the thermoform example, the preference should be given to the stressed 'for'
for the same reasons. (There are also natural word-divisions, I think.)

Last week one of my customers mentioned that the word thermoform
translated with an of sign--definitely not correct. I'm sure boflex would
also translate with an of sign. We won't even discuss primenet and usenet.
Depending on which braille magazine you read, genealogy may or may not
contain an ea sign.
The point of all this is that there should be an easy way for users of
Duxbury or any other translator to define permanent exceptions. If Betsy
encounters this word again, why should she have to intervene each time
manually. It's time that Duxbury stopped trying to be the programmer
almighty and allowed its users to have control over the things they need.
Every time I do anything for a paratransit company, I have to manually
interfere with the word Access-A-Ride to keep it from containing a letter
sign.
I don't know everything about the most recent versions of Duxbury because
I don't have one. So, if there is a way of creating a permanent exceptions
list I think it should be shared with all Duxbury users.
Note, the wring program, sold with earlier versions of Duxbury is
impossible. I never had any success using that.
