Susie, there's a command in the F5 codes list: rps ... Once when I was having lots of problems with the TOC, I was told to put rps just before each Contents item and rpe just after. Headings, such as centered or whatever, need to be _before the rps instruction. Don't know if that will help you any but ... for what it's worth. I want Heading 1 for the names of the sections, not heading 2. I have coded all the headings by applying the h1 style, not by manually coding. I chose custom in the dialog and specified the rest of it. I still just get the Contents heading and the column heading, but no TOC. There has got to be a missing link--perhaps I am it!
