Susie, there's a command in the F5 codes list:  rps ... Once when I was
having lots of problems with the TOC, I was told to put rps just before each
Contents item and rpe just after.  Headings, such as centered or whatever,
need to be _before the rps instruction.  Don't know if that will help you
any but ... for what it's worth.

Caroline, Deb and all,

it's still not working the way it should be.  I want Heading 1 for the
names of the sections, not heading 2. I have coded all the headings by
applying the h1 style, not by manually coding. I chose custom in the
dialog and specified the rest of it. I still just get the Contents
heading and the column heading, but no TOC. There has got to be a
missing link--perhaps I am it!
