Terri,

I don't mean embossing directly through DBTW. When I said that, I was thinking of it the way we did in the DOS days: by copying the file to LPT1: or your favorite printer port. I don't think that would work.

Dear Steve,

Did you say a person cannot emboss directly from a .dxb file? I do it all
the time!

: Tom, : : A .BRF file is a braille formatted file which is suitable for : embossing or loading into a notetaker. Similarly, a .PRF file is one : which can be sent directly to a printer. A .DXB file is the braille : output from DBTW, but you can't emboss it directly because it still : contains all the Duxbury codes. The "DXB" means "Duxbury : braille." You didn't ask about this, but a .DXP file is one that has : not yet been translated into braille, but contains all the Duxbury : codes. You can also generate a .DXP file by back-translating a .DXB file. : : Steve : : On Monday 12/19/05 15:55 Tom Whalen wrote: : >Thanks for the information, I really appreciate all the help I : >receive on here.
