 I agree with you Lois.  There are much better, greener and safer ways to teach 
chemistry and the "go boom" stuff should be avoided.

There are several You tube versions of this. I show the video and explain that 
I'm an olld poop who is exceptionally safety conscious. I prefer environmental 
chem over uncontrolled exothermic reactions.


 


I have seen this done in an ignition tube with a 5 ft flame shooting out the 
end.
