Also, it is possible to create the tarballs from the cloned source.
The likelihood of github being down is far less statistically than
raspberryvi.org being unreachable for some reason.
The new site should be up some time in the next couple of days.

I can think of a couple of reasons why it might be worthwhile to have
duplication. First, I've been told that GitHub isn't all that accessible, so
Mike's site might be easier to use. Also, if the GitHub site is down, this
could provide a fallback.
