Now that the Pi 4 makes running a desktop with Orca reasonably viable,
I wonder how well the OMX library with piespeakup and Orca would play
with each other using tty switching to toggle between the console and
the GUI.
I know there's been mentions of using a dummy video driver to get
around complaints of there being no monitor attached, but does that
prevent X from sending stuff to the GPU altogether? If not, is X using
GPU even when focus is on a tty that's at the console? Does the
combination of using piespeakup and orca and switching between GUI and
console run the risk of slowing both down as they try to share GPU
cycles? I honestly don't know much about GPU, either in general or the
ones used in the various Pi models beyond them being highly parallel
in how they compute things, nor how much GPU OMX or a typical X
session use, but I'm assuming the Pi's GPUs are rather limited in
overall power and that needing them for what they're traditionally
used for might negatively impact non-typical usage.
