I did. The windchill was 60 below and we were going over the mountains from State College Penn. back to our home. She was a '76 Brogham Cutlas and she made it all the way. It was the day of the Superbowl when Morino lost to Montana.

Bob, some of my favorite times over the years have been spent cleaning tack while listening to the horses munch their dinners. And there's nothing about an automobile that can replace the gentle whicker of a mare to her newborn foal. smile. I've found that both the horseless carriage and the horse-drawn carriage can co-exist in our household, however. I can tell you from personal experience that driving a horse-drawn carriage takes a lot more hard labor and time in order to get from here to there when compared to hopping in a car. Grin. On the other hand, I've never yet had a car that was a companionable and beloved friend! smile.

I realize that change is inevitable, and change is usually good. However, since we've replaced the horse and carriage with the horseless carriage; does anyone ever take the time to smell the wonderful smells of the leather saddle, or to enjoy the human interaction with a trusted animal friend? Not so much anymore, I think!
