I agree with you as this discussion of being "cruel"or not should not
involve trauma work.
And I never meant in this context. In healings we are advised to be very
careful with traumatized people so as not to re-traumatized them.
To me this is very clear and this is universal. For example, in healings if
someone was abused and
You touch their body you must ask their permission and tell them exactly
what you will do. Ask them
If it is okay with them. To me this is again clear and universal.
When we have japanese people, for example, for healings, (with all respect)
we are careful to
touch them and need to ask permission because touching is not
common to their culture as it is for latin people as myself. I also do that
for teenagers who
Have more touching sensibility.

Hello Again,
There may be some cross cultural dynamics at work here along this topic,as
well as profound differences as to the role and responsibilities of the SCW
facilitator. In the psychotherapy model, and with coaching, confrontation
is often useful and effective. In trauma work, this is rarely the case.
And here I wish to be very clear that as a trauma specialist, I do not
accept any necessity for cruelty in my seminars with systemically oriented
trauma work. In my view, traumatized people have suffered already, victims,
perpetrators and some who are both, and I am not willing to do anything to
add
to their pain, or compromise their dignity. With skill and experience one
can find creative ways to assist these clients in facing extremely
difficult issues without the risk of public humiliation and/or
re-traumatization.
Warm Regards,
