[ddots-l] EQing live bass

It's me again with another question:
I just recorded a few songs with live basses on them. On one of them, I
realized that I captured the bass with some hiss, is there anyway I can EQ this
out? And, the bass is very boomy, any suggestions on where I should start
cutting and boosting to get a clear tight bass. Most of the songs I am working
on this album are Reggae and other Caribbean musics that require a tight bass,
but not too boomy, as it is in hip-hop. Thanks.
