First, equalizing will reduce the hiss if it's mainly high frequencies. Just
equalize between 8kHZ and 12KHZ and that should reduce it. And as for fixing
the bass, if it's clipped then it never will be exactly right. Otherwise,
mainly lower the frequencies 100 and below, don't completely illiminate them as
that will make things start to sound very dull. Just reduce them and, as
always, listen!

It's me again with another question:

I just recorded a few songs with live basses on them. On one of them, I
realized that I captured the bass with some hiss, is there anyway I can EQ this
out? And, the bass is very boomy, any suggestions on where I should start
cutting and boosting to get a clear tight bass. Most of the songs I am working
on this album are Reggae and other Caribbean musics that require a tight bass,
but not too boomy, as it is in hip-hop. Thanks.
