First, equalizing will reduce the hiss if it's mainly high frequencies. Just equalize between 8kHZ and 12KHZ and that should reduce it. And as for fixing the bass, if it's clipped then it never will be exactly right. Otherwise, mainly lower the frequencies 100 and below, don't completely illiminate them as that will make things start to sound very dull. Just reduce them and, as always, listen!
