under options audio in either the second or third tab, i believe its under drivers the third tab and the last option but don't haVE MY MACHINE FIRED UP.

card?

This problem occurs in a new project with nothing loaded. The template
consists of 16 midi tracks with no synths initially loaded or saved in the
template. As soon as I load the first synth and play it i get laytency.

Hello:
The playback i/o buffer setting controls how much data is chached when
reading from your hard drive.  When working with large projects with a lot
of audio tracks, you might need to raise this so that your hard drive can
keep up.  The disadvantage to a higher setting is that response will be a
bit slower when pressing play since the larger buffers will need to load
up before streaming starts.  This setting has no effect on input latency.
