Have you tried switching driver modes from wdm to asio? You say that this only happens when new synths are inserted? Meaning that if you play synths from projects that you've already done, even if you manually play those synths they work? Or do they also exhibit this latency? Hi all. sort of going mental over here and need some tips. (win xp pro sp3, intel I7 quad core, 3gb ram, sonar 8.53 producer.) Just setup my system the other day with my new m audio project mix, ct for 8.5, the latest version of hsc, and some new rapture and dimension packs I found etc. I thought I'd get totally up to date. Well, playback of projects is totally fine. I can load a project with a dozen instances of soft synths plus audio tracks and it works like a charm. However, when I insert a soft synth into a new project, say, one instance of dimension pro or true pianos, there is about a one second delay from when you hit a key to when you hear the note you played. You can't even play a scale of quarter notes without it missing three or four, no matter how slow you play. And fast runs or trills don't get reproduced at all. I didn't have this issue with the firebox I was just using before I switched to the project mix. For now I am set to record at 24 bit, 44.1. the playback and recording buffer sizes are 256. I played with them a bit but got no better latency. I am having this problem with stand alone instruments too. Like Synthogy ivory. Any tips on what I could do to sort this out? Also, before anyone asks, yes I am using the external midi, all the ins and outs are set correctly and the drivers are checked in Sonar, and, I did a reset on the project mix in control panel. I've never seen latency this bad on an interface! There must be some setting I haven't checked... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cameron. PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
