back when I used dbt and duxwp, I found them to be quite friendly and
mega dots not so. I also found early windows dux friendly as well. I
will be using dbtwin soon and suggest that someone apply themselves to
developping screen reader configurations for it if needed. I would also
like to add that when I had problems with the use of dbt or questions,
the folks, Joe, Peter et al at duxburry spent lots of time working with
me to sort out the issues. I have not used later encarnations of
megadots but would be willing to bet that as flexible as dbtwin is that
there is a way to configure it so that it works better. For instance, I
heard someone say that things were fine for a while then things broke
down. This usually occurs when something on the system changes either
in one or the other software packages or on the system its self. I do
know that there has been a lot of evolution in jaws recently and this
may be part of the cause of recent problems. I also know that little
things like whether you have the task bar hidden or not can make a
difference in your results when working with apps that rely on the
status line for providing info. I hide mine for that reason and also
for the reason that if it is necessary to use the jaws cursor, the task
bar does not trap it.

More later.

Yes, many people have told me Duxbury doesn't work well on the whole for
blijnd people;
it isn't blind-friendly, despite the protestations of Duxbury.
They better do something about it. Folks should really starty yelling,
because there's simply no excuse for any of this.
MegaDots has always been much more blind-friendly, from the ground up!
