Hello everyone. I believe we have focus issues because Duxbury isn't using a
standard edit window. I would like confirmation of this and a reason for not
using standard edit windows. I have used various types of word processors
and other programs with text edit boxes. I have also written my own programs
using the standard text edit boxes and have never had a problem with focus.

Hi all, Ben is correct about the focus issue and especially screen
reader users. It might interest you to know however that people who use
the keyboard exclusively other than screen reader users have also found
focus issues.

Most experienced JFW users, especially with 4.0 and beyond, are aware
that
Jaws doesn't always stay focused and you have to refocus, sometimes with
an
alt tab. It seems to be a problem with the screen reader, but really it
isn't a big thing as long as you are aware of the focus issue. It
almost
becomes second nature to make sure your focus is where you want it to
be.
Thanks George for the further explanation. And, by the way, happy new
year.

Ben
