I’m sorry I’m going to have to correct you on this.

you can do a full re-image of your recovery drive using diskmaker X in 
mavericks using the mavericks install app. I check this as an admin / engineer 
so need to have volumes accessible both in physical media and network images. 
so, in this instance, you can perform a disk create in mavericks using 
diskMaker X 3.01
