I had somebody come to look at the computer yesterday to make sure I knew what
was going on. Apparently it was updating and needed my Apple ID and password.
However, voiceover was not speaking that. I thought, during updating, voiceover
would still speak to me. At least I think that is what happened before. Has
anybody had this problem? I did push the command to get VoiceOver to speak but
nothing happened. Once updating was over it came up talking.

Try booting into the recovery system with command r and hold it down while
powering your mac. And hold it for 30 seconds. Do a disk repair and all of
that in disk utility. If that does not work I'm afraid your mac might be
shot. It's 6 years old after all.

command F5 or Function key command F5 should get VoiceOver started if I

My 2010 MacBook Pro is not booting up. When I turn it on I hear the hard
drive spinning but it does not get to the login screen. I sort of remember
the procedures for this type of problem. Can somebody go through the steps I
need to get it up and running again? I also have an external drive that I
have been backing up to. Also do I need to turn voiceover on or will it come
on by itself? I thought the command was control r or something. I am running
the latest software. This all started because iTunes was acting funny and I
decided to shut the system down and restart.
