No, never had that issue. I have vo start at the log on prompt so it should
have just started. Something else might be up as well. Remember, the system is
about 6 years old.

what was going on. Apparently it was updating and needed my Apple ID and
password. However, voiceover was not speaking that. I thought, during
updating, voiceover would still speak to me. At least I think that is what
happened before. Has anybody had this problem? I did push the command to get
VoiceOver to speak but nothing happened. Once updating was over it came up
talking.
