I got a 4TB western digital USB external for mac from amazon for only 200
bucks. They also make a version for windows, even though the drive can be
formated anyway you want it.

I guess this depends on how much music you have and what the size of the hd in
the mbp is. almost all external usb hds are good. you can't go wrong with
western digital as a start.
