From what I gather, it's quite intentional. The organizer of CRX (Jim
Drew) likes to point out that holding the events simultaneously will
allow people to visit both expos but the reality is that CRX is being
held as an alternative to CommVEx for people who are fed up with the
organizer of CommVEx (Robert Bernardo). While neither of the
organizers are actually from Las Vegas, The Clark County Commodore
Computer Club (C5) has thrown in with CRX.

Jim Drew or Robert Bernardo. Talk about a Sophie's choice.

Wow! As soon as I saw the dates and the similarity in locations, I wondered if there was a "split". That is a shame, as I do not believe that locale can support two Commodore shows with critical mass. I remembered C5 was an initial sponsor of the CommVexx show, so it is interesting that they have moved on.

It takes quite a lot to force folks to create a new show (there's drama at every show, like VCF-E, VCF-MW, and event WoC, but nothing seems to rise to the level that causes folks to make such drastic changes). I wonder what happened (not that folks will ever tell, but it'd be nice to know as a caution for other show teams.

I you imply, Jim Drew is an interesting character as well.
