Hi, Rick, I would like you to know that I don't think you were "rattling
on" as you call it, but were expressing your quite legitimate thoughts,
reflections, opinions, etc. and I for one am glad you wrote what you
did. Heavens, that's how we get to know each other, by letting our
personalities shine through our writing. Please refrain from apologizing
for expressing your thoughts. Regards, Kim Friedman.

I appreciate your suggestions, Mayrie, although as it happens, on the
Victor
Stream, I had created the folder and indeed copied all of the files in
there.
And it reads fine. Except as we agreed, without the ability to navigate
by
page.

I agree with those who have stated the opinion that page navigation has
to
still be an important component we come to rely upon in our reading, and
has
been a real benefit of the Bookshare experience, for myself, and am glad
to
hear others feel the same.

I agree, with you, too, however, Mayrie. The fact that the books are
coming
from the publishers is great, and something we have also advocated for.

If it is true, that thinking caps can come on and we and Bookshare staff
can
come up with a way to take those and, while there is no page number, to
as
one said, at least just designate that so many lines is a page and put
the
markers in there. I'm not at all technical enough to know how. But I
bet it
could be done, and in such a way that it would not have to require a ton
of
extra time.

Just something for the good old long Bookshare wish list, I reckon. And
thankful I remain that the collaborative spirit remains in Bookshare. I
think it is a great endeavor. And one I appreciate all of you for being
a
part of.

Meanwhile, I am glad to get a book so quickly.
A few years ago, I was out there going and buying these new books and
scanning furiously to submit those which I had gotten a fever for from
listening to the author on their book tour doing the radio or tv
circuit.
Now, I have reformed. Since a couple times or more I did that and found
that
my submission was rejected and the message said it because the book was
already in the collection. I was not paying enough attention to know
this
was happening.

Anyway. I rattled on again, too long, too.

Thanks.
Rik James

PS. Now, back to Radio Unnameable with Bob Fass on WBAI. It is my one
late
night! My Montana stream, a campfire heard crackling all the way from
the
Big Apple!
