I am not entirely certain what you mean by the question. Do you mean that
there is a difference between taking child pornography pictures and an
explicit sexual assault to the child or do you mean something different? I

I know that often some persons who are not familiar with child pornography
may sometimes believe the pictures are only naked children. This is not the
case although some pictures certainly may only be this. There are images
that we would not normally consider nor would we even really imagine that
are deep in the secretive world that is a money machine in child
pornography. I think we cannot discuss the issue without some definition of
the kinds of pictures that are taken of children. Of course, there are a
variety of raping a child, but ligatures and other tortures are used.
Children are sexually assaulted by the use of animals and I would think
innumerable objects of penetration. Images that include things such as
snakes and other things, perhaps insects are other ways of manifesting
torture. And, yes, dead persons are used as sexual partners for children,
sometimes complete with coffin. I am not trying to alarm anyone but when
the media speaks of child pornography there is never reference to the kinds
of images that children are used for aside from disclosure of nude
pictures. This is a social disconnect. As facilitators we need to be aware
of the extent of the meaning for children when we say child pornography.
I also say these things so that someone who is inexperienced with trauma
and the depth of where these memories must be held by a child in order for
that child to get up and go to school the next day are clear. There is deep
dissociation as there often is with child sexual assault and other
traumatic experiences. To hold this kind of trauma in a constellation there
needs to be an incredible gentleness in a fully safe environment. These are
usually not one session bits of work but deep processes that take a very
long time to bring into awareness.
Let's bathe this conversation in a lake of love. For us and for those with
whom we work. I suppose I ought to share. Some of this is my own story. Not
the most severe but some. It is obviously why I choose to work with these
issues but also it is why a lot of people are drawn to me. I have lived it.
