In my opinion, Help files are good for refreshing your memory on a topic
with which you're already familiar. However, when you're first starting
out with a piece of software, or you need detailed instructions, there's
nothing like a hard copy (print or braille) which you can look at
independently of the computer. Unfortunately with most Windows software,
the trend is to have the Help files and forget about the manuals. I think
if we're going to get software that is truly "user friendly," we really
need both.
