Jessica, I really appreciate the energy and information you've been providing
to this list. To cite just one example, I had never heard of edbrowse before.
I've added it to the build file for Perkify (see below).
# Intro, redux
I've introduced myself here before, but the tl;dr is that I'm a 71 year old,
sighted, editor, programmer, and writer. I've been using computers for 50+
years; since the early 80's it has all been on Unixish systems. I mostly
program in Ruby (for small stuff) and Elixir (for big stuff). I mostly develop
on Macs, but often deploy on Linux. I use both CLI- and GUI-based programs;
for example, I mostly edit in BBEdit, but drop into vim(1) as needed (e.g., on
Linux).
I bounce between a number of accessibility-related projects, including:
- Perkian - an umbrella project to promote blind-accessible Linux systems
- Perkify - a blind-friendly virtual machine, based on Vagrant and Ubuntu
- Pete's Alley - an Elixir-based, prototype, disability-related, web site
