As I understand it, it's hard to compare ARM and x86 processors from
specs alone, but it's sounding like the Pi 4 might be more powerful
than my aging desktop machine(a vintage 2011 HP with 4GB ram and a
early i core cpu that originally came with Win7).
Bit disappointed about them jumping on the USB-C bandwagon and the
lack of an upgrade to full-sized SD cards for the system drive, but
sticking to the nearly ubiquitous microB plugs and reversing a
downgrade from several models ago was probably a pipedream.
At least they didn't make the cardinal sin of ditching the 3.5mm audio
jack(a pointless change of plug and memory cards too small to handle
are annoying trends in consumer electronics, but stripping out the
only "just works" audio solution in wide use would be beyond the pale
and anyone who says the 3.5 mm audiojack is obsolete and should be
dropped from all new products deserves, in my humble opinion, to be
slapped).
So, any news on whether the official cases will be getting an upgrade
for the Pi 4 or any plans to release an official solution for adding
an internal battery?
