Sunday morning turned out to be very pleasant and had a couple nice
surprises for my while birding at Occoquan Bay NWR. Along the Belmont Bay
site 2 Laughing Gulls and a lingering Forsters Tern were seen and a little
further down the trial a Yellow-Billed Cuckoo was observed. Near the
observation platform just past the bird banding station a Yellow-breasted
Chat was seen before it disappeared in the dense shrubs he funniest
observation were 3 wild turkeys crossing the road. I did not know how funny
Wild Turkey can look when they run like mad with stiff necks. To bad that my
camera was too slow to capture the turkeys in action.
