ok now i'm the one confused.

You add effects to the FX Bin but access their parameters in the Inspector, that is, unless the effects have been scripted or hot spotted.

Question: With the Waves stuff, have you found meaninful parameters displayed in the Inspector? A lot of the time here, I see accurate names, like attack and release and threshold on a compressor, but not real world values in dB and milliseconds. Often, I just see percentages. I guess it isn't a big problem since we're supposed to use our ears when adjusting things anyway, but the geek in me wants to know what's going on numerically. (grin)

I have Waves version 8 stuff here. Perhaps things have improved with version 9?

Nope, I understood. MY response was misleading.

My question is why is there a difference between the way the inspector
looks at vst parameters compared to just bringing them up from the
effects bin in Sonar or or the effects menu in SF?

Are you saying that the inspector doesn't have a front end
(presentation) layer and the regular track effects does?

Thanks,
Floyd...
