Hey Floyd,

You're most welcome.

You should read the lesson in the CakeTalking tutorial regarding the Inspector. There may be times where you'll have to disable some items that are shown there so you'll have room to display the assignable controls for the plug you're working with. . This work-around is wonderful, provided the plug has these controls in the first place. Otherwise you're pretty much out to lunch accessing parameters - etc. The only other option you have is to get help from a sighted person you trust who knows a little something about what you're working with; or if that person's not near you to be able to help you one on one, then you could use something like Teamviewer to have somebody connect to your computer and help you from there. I've had to do this to get access to the various parameters in the Kontakt libraries I use. It seems to work quite well; and it's far better than being stranded without immediate options for you to get the results you want.

Back to the Inspector: Once you've turned it on and are focused in it, Go to the FX sub-menu and check the option to show assignable controls. Keep in mind that only four controls will be displayed at a time, assuming you don't have a lot of other controls being displayed. You just need to press Enter to uncheck the ones you don't need to deal with so you'll have room for the ones you want to work with. After that, it's a matter of using your value keys in CakeTalking to change whatever control you're focused on. To access other controls in the plug, you'll have to reassign one of those four controls to a different one. You do that by focusing on a control; then hit your applications key to bring up a menu where you'll need to scroll up or down until you come to an item that says reassign control. Hit Enter; then you should be presented with a list of controls to choose from. Simply hit Enter again, and that control will be assigned to the control you're focused on. Once you're done doing this, turn off the Inspector so you don't accidentally save a project with it turned on - unless you want it that way.

Also, be aware that you most likely won't have access to presets from within the plug itself. Some folks have managed to create hot spots for some plugs. I'm sure that there are some great presets that come with them, but all is not lost though as you can create your own and save them as a Sonar preset associated with the plug. It's only my opinion, but I generally like creating my own presets, so it's no big deal that I can't access the ones from within a plug.

I don't know if anybody's tried to create HSC sets for any of the Waves plugs; it definitely would be a good thing if there were. I'm sure there are folks who would love to have access to them. I would imagine though that it would take some doing with a good many of these plugs as you'd probably have to have sighted assistance to do it, assuming it can be done in the first place.

Hope this helps you.

Mike

Wow, you know, I never had much luck with the inspector. I have not
tried that with ct 8.8 etc though.

I'm going to give this a try.

Good fun,
Thanks,
Floyd...
