Thanks, Phil. Yes, I unplugged everything and tried it again. Would you
explain reprofiling the soundcard in Sonar and where to do this? The only
thing I recall that could have caused this is that I tossed my headphones aside
during the boot up and then later found them lying on the mouse, which made me
wonder if some type of click was performed. Normally the two pop-ups that come
up before the Desktop arrives go away with the press of the spacebar--these two
are because there is currently no router hooked up for Internet access. These
two appeared but then the FW1884 appeared as well. After venturing to find out
what was happening, Sonar also gave fatal error messages and needed to close.
Man, I hope I didn't totally screw up something. I plan to have a sighted
partner take a look tonight. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks, Phil. Any
other comments would be appreciated.

S.B.

Hmm, normally that dialog will come up if you haven't turrned the FW-1884 on.
As for the sound issue, have you tried reprofiling the card in Sonar?

Hi all. I must have done something by accident during boot up. I got this FW
1884 Control Panel dialog that wouldn't go away. I finally entered on it and
it brought up tabs for MIDI Control, Routing, FE 8, etc. These also continued
to keep popping up and would not close. I kept rebooting. I finally got one
chance of reaching a project. The sliders moved on their own on the FW 1884,
but there was no sound. I rebooted and once again experienced the FW 1884
Control Panel dialog again. JAWS was also not acting right for it was changing
as it had to keep reading the different dialogs. Any ideas what I did or what
can be done? I will have sighted assistance this weekend. I am not a Sonar or
DAW techee. Thanks in advance. S.B.
