The mouse should not have had any effect. Even if a serial mouse with RS-232 
9-pin connector, it would not fit the 15-pin video connector.

Have you yet tried to do a JAWS install?

  But, hey, if I did uninstalled the Video Interceptor, is it still there in 
the JAWS program on the DAW?  Can I simply now press Enter on the checkbox 
dialog in the JAWS Utilities in the Video Interceptor Manager?  If I could make 
sure it was back, then changing the resolution will make a difference.  But if 
the VR is not there, then I don't know if changing the resolution is even a 
possibility -- not sure.
  But I don't know why plugging up a serial mouse would have affected the 
video, unless, of course, this was not a mouse port.
