Stacey, First try the repair, as I suggested using your JAWS 9 CD. Don't try to upgrade to JAWS 10 until you have resolved your current problem. Ditto for Sonar upgrades. Fix one thing at a time, and you'll have a better success rate. I apologize for not being a more confident PC person. I texted Freedom Scientific this morning before posting to this site, and they said call them. I talked to a techee who said the problem was fixable and acted like I didn't have to uninstall my current JAWS. The problem now (groan) is that I arrive home with about ten minutes to spare before they close -- I'll probably be on hold for that long (grin and groan). I hope he is right. If not, then I might go ahead with the JAWS 10 upgrade idea. I've also considered upgrading to Sonar 8.5 with CT, but I'm still learning Sonar 7! ha ha I will keep you guys posted on what happens with my DAW. Thanks to all of you, sincerely. Have you ever thought of upgrading to Jaws 10? You can do that by going into the Freedom Scientific web site, getting into the downloads page, using the arrow keys to find Jaws downloads, and choosing Jaws 10 from the Jaws downloads page of www.freedomscientific.com. I thought tht downloading Jaws 10 might solve your problems, and you wouldn't have to un-install Jaws. Just a thought. > > God bless you. > > Bobby Lusk > ---- blusk@xxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > > Stacy, you can get all the info you need about installing and un-installing Jaws by getting into the Jaws Help file. Just get into the Jaws window and press f 1 to get into the help file or you can also access the help file by pressing insert H and choosing the help menu from the list of choices. Either way just look for topics about installing and un-installing Jaws. Hope this helps. I hope and pray the everything goes all right for you. > > > > God bless you. > > > > Bobby Lusk. > > ---- Stacy Blackwell <stacy.blackwell@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > > > > Okay, I will try this soon, but I have more questions. So then I can go check the display settings to fix things so that Caketalking will work? Okay, I will wait to re-install JAWS when I hear back from you guys. > > > > > > SLB > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: dgcarlson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Help needed - please. > > > Date: Thu, 24 Sep 2009 10:09:55 -0700 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > No. Just when you un-install JAWS they ask the question "remove shared components"? DJX, when you say "shared components, are you referring to re-installing JAWS along with Sonar, Dimension Pro, FW 1884, and Caketalking? Or can I just re-install JAWS? Thanks for responding. Otherwise, in the display box, when on the slider for resolution, try switching to say all, and move the slider, 0 should be 640 by 480, the next percent (which verries from system to system/graphics card to graphics card) should be 800 by 600, and the third should be 1024 by 768. If you have jaws set to say all it might read off the actual values for you, but like i said, to get the video intercept working, you should just uninstall jaws and shared components and do a clean install of it. > > > > > > HTH, D!J!X! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Stacy Blackwell > > > Sent: Thursday, September 24, 2009 9:47 AM > > > To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > Subject: [ddots-l] Help needed - please. > > > > > > > > > Where do I begin?Sighted friend offerred to help. Wireless mouse not working, so we plugged up a serial mouse. Now there is no monitor, a Freedom Scientific Video Interceptor dialog keeps appearing, and CT is saying I need to change my screen resolution to 1024 X 698 or something like that. After finally finding the resolution box in the Display Settings, it's a % slider and was resting at 0%. I could increase this value but I didn't know what % to increase it to. I found the same Video Interceptor dialog under the JAWS Utilities. I'm afraid I uninstalled this video interceptor, but it sounded like it was something I didn't need. Can anybody help me, in simple terms, figure out what to do? One question is what % is the needed 1024 X 768 (I know that's not the exact values). I know the bit needs to be 32 in the next block but I couldn't tell how to view the values. I've got nothing but time, so if anybody could tell me about this video receptor and how to restore the resolution, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks in advance. > > > SLB > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Microsoft brings you a new way to search the web. Try Bing™ now > > > > > > > > > Lauren found her dream laptop.
