Hi Neville,The track that your changing the level on using the Snapshot. Is there effects on the effect column of that track? If there is the snapshot is also taking a snapshot of the parameters info, not sure why it does this.
Try just changing a level on a track with no effects, it should just do it without Sonar asking questions.

I find that it happens when I do automation on the volume of any track. I didn't have this problem until Sonar 8. Has any one else had this problem? If so how did you fix it. Is it only safe to do automation on busses now?

Have a clean bus track for the level. Steve W----- Original Message ----- From: "neville" <neville@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

The message goes something like this. About 180 parameters have been automated are you sure you want to draw so many envelopes? And then it goes on to say something about too many envelopes can slow down sonar's operations. I am not quoting the message verbatim, but what I've said is very close to it. It seems to me that when I try to automate one parameter many other parameters are also being changed. How would I solve this problem? This has been going on for quite some time, so any help will be greatly appreciated. May the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. God bless you! So, in short, whenever you arm tracks for automation, then any parameter changes are recorded by default, and Control-R (just once) will take a snapshot of all armed parameters. Sometimes that's overkill, so it can be better to take a single snapshot of just one parameter, which you can do with applications-key then S. HTH, Peter At 10:14 AM 6/24/2011, you wrote:
Hi Mike, Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it hold down Control then hit the R key twice to create a snapshot? At that point, do a control-R to record an automation point that'll give you a snapshot of your settings. Make sure that Automation Write is on, of course, or you won't get this accomplished. In regards to your tempo problem: Make sure that you've inserted your original tempo at the beginning of the project, which I'm assuming you've done that. Insert the new tempo at the beginning of the bar where you want it to occur with control-T. Don't use the "Insert Series of Tempos" unless you want to do just that. Hope this helps. I don’t see under insert (alt+I) a volume option. Can you let me know, or where in the CT manual covers volume changes. The CT manual does make reference to inserting volume changes, but don’t see where it tells you how to do it. Also, I have inserted a tempo change in a different bar and track and it does not change the tempo. Do you know if there is a catch to inserting tempo changes beyond going to insert tempo?
