You could do it that way, though it takes a bit of work (wave profiler, setting card up in wdm etc). Could I switch to WDM just want enough to make a click track using the metronome and then render a track with that? After I use the metronome to make a click track, could I go back to ASIO? I've heard that wdm is better, but then it depends on what source you're reading, etc. I've been using asio for a while now without any problems, but now with the discussion of the metronome underway, I may consider switching to wdm to get more flexibility in my choices for ins and outs. Any thoughts on these drivers? Hi, 1 thing to note, virtual audio cable will only work if you are using wdm. If you are using asio drivers for your interface, as you know you can only select 1 device at a time. So this solution wouldn't work then, well not without some other problems. If you have a saffire interface, this is where the virtual loopback ports come in handy! BTW, I thought you could record a click by setting it to run on playback as well as recording? So that when you mix down the bus will include the click track? I think I did this once a few years ago, don't remember how, but I know it's doable. Or maybe I used a physical cable, can't remember. HTH, D!J!X! PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
