Hi Mike, it all depends on your card, the manufacturer, and how good they've
implemented either drivers. For my saffire for example, I've heard
performance is better when using asio, which is what I've always used, with
the saffire, my previous delta, and my first tascam us122. If you own an
fw-1884 however, it is recommended that you use the wdm drivers, as they
provide better stability. This is the case for various cards, some like 1
better, some like the other.
So what interface do you have?

Hi D!J!X!,

Speaking of this business of asio and wdm drivers, I'd be interested in what
you and others prefer to use. I've heard that wdm is better, but then it
depends on what source you're reading, etc. I've been using asio for a while
now without any problems, but now with the discussion of the metronome
underway, I may consider switching to wdm to get more flexibility in my
choices for ins and outs. Any thoughts on these drivers?

Mike
