Hi Londa,
You've stated the most important reason for making DBTW's editor a
powerhouse. I'll take your argument one step further: Files come to me in
several different formats, ranging from ASCII text to RTF files to Word
documents, and I have no idea how anything will look until I bring it into
DBT. Quite frankly, it takes too much time to keep switching back and
forth between my favorite word processor/editor and DBT, so I need DBT to
have as many built-in features as possible.

Actually, the big problem for many of us is that we get documents which someone else has created. Most of the time they aren't created well, so then we have to use dbt to fix all the problems. It's either that or put in and/or change style codes in word. I feel funny about playing with someone else's word document that way. Just to throw another dilemma into the picture.

There's certainly a lot to be said for doing that, especially when you consider the power of a word processor. My own dilemma is figuring out when it makes sense to use the word processor and when I should be tweaking things in DBTW. Sometimes the importer does very well, but at other times I simply have to work in DBT to get the results I want. That said, I'm all for making things as easy and painless as possible.
