 I turn off all those auto-formatting features too.  Otherwise, Word wants
to outline everything and correct punctuation and spelling and all sorts of
stuff--which plays havoc with a proofreader's report, let me tell you!!

There's a bunch of things I turn off in all that autoformatting stuff in
Word.  Word assumes you don't have a clue what you want in your document and
that you are too lazy to figure it out, so it just puts all kinds of
formatting in there that is not friendly to Duxbury.

I don't know if there is a "Smart quotes" option in Word Perfect, but if
there is, it should be turned off.  As I said, DBT isn't the problem
here.  The problem is that people are using the wrong character for an
apostrophe.  Incidentally, I believe the "Smart Quotes" checkbox is part of
the Format menu in Word.
