Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Davidson Co.
Nashville, TN
7-9:30am, plenty of fog

This morning at Radnor I birded my usual route from the
west parking lot to long bridge via the lake trail. Birding
continues to improved as migrant numbers and diversity increase.
However, the morning started with the locals, two BARRED OWLs
heard and then seen at the parking lot. Other nice sightings
included a BROAD-TAILED HAWK, 16 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, and a
surprise at long bridge, an early WINTER WREN (earlier than
the earliest fall sighting listed in "Birds of the Nashville
Area, 4th Edition." I saw 10 species of warblers.

Other birds of interest included:
Yellow-billed Cuckoo 1
Chimney Swift 50+
Veery 1
Swainson's Thrush 5
White-eyed Vireo 6
Red-eyed Vireo 6

10 warbler species:
Orange-crowned 1
N. Parula 2
Magnolia 3
Black-throated Green 2
Black-and-white 1 female
Am. Redstart 1 female
Ovenbird 2
Common Yellowthroat 1
Wilson's Warbler 1
Canada Warbler 1 stunning male
