Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Thursday, 2009 Oct. 22 7:15-9:15 am mostly cloudy Another morning at Radnor Lake, another day to enjoy neotropical migrants before the spigot is turned off for the winter. Nothing of particular note was seen this morning. Warbler-wise, aside from large numbers of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERs, the rest of the warbler family was modestly represented, although there were still some TENNESSEE, BAY-BREASTED, and BLACK-THROATED GREENs about. Single BLUE-HEADED VIREO and ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK were additional highlights. I got good looks at a WINTER WREN that posed atop a fence along the Lake Trail. Birds of interest included: Killdeer 1 Chimney Swift 3 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1 N. Flicker 3 E. Phoebe 5 Blue-headed Vireo 1 Winter Wren 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2 Cedar Waxwing 8 Warblers: Tennessee 6 Nashville 1 Yellow-rumped 37 Black-throated Green 5 Blackburnian 1 Bay-breasted 6 Am.
