This is what I was planning to do with my uIEC sometime - install it inside my VIC-20 as an internal device #10, but keep the external IEC port so I can still use external drives at the same time.

In theory, this should work fine - it would be no different than using an IEC "Y" splitter cable (which do exist). But I haven't tried it. Could someone with more electronics knowledge comment?
