Leif & others On internal mount,,,, Why not Solder up another connector to the back of the c64/vic20/c128's IEC port? Then a Mating cord to the uIEC that will give you the ability to Disconnect it if there is a problem situation...as well as easily remove it for for a stand alone or other use that may pop up in the future? This is what I was planning to do with my uIEC sometime - install it inside my VIC-20 as an internal device #10, but keep the external IEC port so I can still use external drives at the same time. In theory, this should work fine - it would be no different than using an IEC "Y" splitter cable (which do exist). But I haven't tried it.
