Hey Mike. Thank you for the kind words. It really is appreciated! Agree
with you. Advising a client over here in the UK on a computer build. Not
building it myself but working with a company who I know and trust to get
the job done. Shall also be installing all of the software myself on top of
Windows 7 64 bit. Guess what shall be going on there among other things,
Cake Talking and Sonar 8.5.3 on Windows 7 64 bit. Surely not I hear you
cry! My answer is yes. He needs to get the job done and fast and I don't
know of any other accessible package that gives him all that he needs on the
audio and MIDI front. I shall be supplementing that with some HSC support
and sets such as the latest set for Superior Drummer 2.

Just my opinion: My investment partners and I shelled out a lot of bucks to
upgrade my machine to a hell of a fast 64-bit Windows 7 system. It also has
8-gb of ram, which is probably what I should've been running all along; but
it's only money.

Now having said this, I personally don't see why the rush to get out of
Windows 7 - especially when there really isn't any equivalent place to go to

get the job done. I gotta admire Phil here in that he produced some stuff
with a lot of tools that are right in Sonar. Again, way to go Phil! I look
at what I didn't have not so long ago, and it's mind boggling to know what
I'm capable of doing now.

If Microsoft wants to put me in computer prison because I refuse to jump
when it demands, or when some gamer forces things to go outside the current
abilities of the assistive technology to keep up at the drop of a hat, then
there's something really wrong here. I have a very stable and reliable
system going on here; and I'm not changing it today, or tomorrow, for that
matter. I don't think it's the end of the world if a lot of us don't get our

butts over to Windows 10 yesterday or whenever. There are a lot of
businesses that still use XP; so are we not gonna deal with them because of
it? I, quite frankly, am offended when some shmuck who doesn't know the ins
and outs of what I have to do to make a computer useful to me gets in my
face and tells me what I had better do. As of right now, the only thing I'm
going to be doing is upgrading sounds. I'm into the Kontakt player with some

assistance from my partners through Teamviewer. It works well, and it fills
in the gaps where the accessibility is non-existent.

Just my $0.02, but I think there needs to be some perspective about this
march toward something that will set us back more than move us forward at
this point - until the assistive technology can catch up; that's assuming
that it can catch up under current circumstances.

Mike

Thanks Bill, Sounds like it is possible to get something out of it in win
8 then, so might be worth the shot. Especially since not using much in the

way of features, might get away with it, but have feeling it may be the
things I need, hahaha. Hanging onto win 7 as long as I can and still
prefer keeping dedicated pc for just Sonar, so at this point its still
possible to get a very fast computer with a new copy of windows 7. Dave
