Just log in to your router that’s handing out IP addresses, look for the pie in
your leases and then pull the IP address from that. Should be as simple as
reading a page or the output from a command depending on what kind of router
you have and how your setup. I assume you’re router for example is your DHCP
server and you’re not running your own domain controller etc.

I dunno. Can you be a bit more specific on how this would work? For example:
- Does it require special privileges on the DHCP server?
- Is there an OS-independent way to get this information?
- Is there a way for it to provide hostnames?
