If you guys have an external USB hub, please use it! To avoid any possible
damage to the pc.
Have you checked with soundcraft to see if your unit is still under warranty?
That would be where I’d start. Otherwise, check their site for the authorized
service center closest to you, and contact them to get a quote for the repair,
and weigh your options.

I just want to thank mike, and everyone else here for so much great
information. I have a friend coming over with a laptop to connect the
board to it and see what happens there. If we have the same problem
then it sounds like it's my board's power supply. Where would I send
it to fix the power supply, or does that mean I have to buy a new

Even though the USB port is soldered on, the USB chipset is most likely a
separate package. Most manufacturers purchase chipsets, only company I’ve
heard of who build their own USB chipsets was RME.
In any case, if he can plug in another device to the computer on the same
port, and it works, it probably is the actual mixer.
It might be as you said, the unit’s power supply. Is it an external brick?
Or is it built in?
Is the unit natively a USB 2 device? Or a USB3?
I’m assuming you guys already did the basic stuff like switch and try a
different wire etc?

Hey DJX first of all, I just wanted to apologize that I sent out themessage
stating that your content couldn’t bet read, however after a little while, I
was able to re open the message, and all worked fine.
Toanswer your question on why I think it would come down tot he PC in the
end is because the Board stays on when not plugged in to the uSB port of the
computer system.
I have the same issue with one of my computers where the mixer console kept
on turning it self on/off like Terry’s is doing, and when I switched to
another computer, the mixer console functioned just fine.
The FW 1884 Had a separate firewire card built in to the motherboard, where
as the Signature has the port welded directly in to the board.
There has to be a battery of some sorts on the board because the effects
processor is digital, and retains its patch change when you turn off the
board.
It could very well be that the power supply on the mixer console is giving
out, as I just did some research on geersluts and several folks reported
issues with power supply issues.

I suppose we could dance around this problem all night long, but I suggested
to Terry that he call his centre, and speak to them, and they could trouble
shoot the problem, as at this point anything is possible, which is why I’m
not stating what I have stated in previous threads as a 100% solution.
At any rate I’m hoping that terry can resolve this.
