John, you made the claim. Why should I have to do the research to support something you said?
The statement is ridiculous on the face of it. Here is a link to a wikipedia page that apparently completely contradicts your comments:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_operating_systemsAccording to that page, Windows machines outnumber all other machines combined. This has been the case since around 1990. That page includes recent sales estimates. Mac desktops are not outselling Windows desktops. That isn't even close. I really doubt that laptop sales are close either.
Come on, John, be reasonable. It's not a disgrace to have made a misstatement. It's a shame to refuse to admit it.

Do the research yourself. There are several marketing companies that keep track of technology sales and for the last five years, Macs are outselling PCS. Particularly in the laptop area, it's a pretty good margin now. Take Care John D. If Windows desktops are still outselling Macs, there must be some reason for that, right? I am sensing a certain amount of defensiveness in your comments, John. I am not a Windows advocate. I'm trying to get at the truth. On 03/23/2015 02:00 PM, John Panarese wrote:You don't. All the major outlets have been doing in recent years is exalting Macs over PCs. Macs are out selling PCs at this point in the market on a quarterly basis. There has to be a reason for that. I'd take a Mac and VoiceOver over Any Windows system with NVDA any day of the week and have done so. If someone could supply a link I'd appreciate it. IMO, it's a tough call. A Mac with voiceover is going to be a lot more expensive than a Windows machine with nvda. Which gives better bang for the buck? I think it is a tough call. I can even see a case for a linux machine with orca being the best bang for the buck. Linux and orca will run on just about anything. You can probably buy a used computer for $100, put linux on it, and have a machine with a screen reader for just the cost of the bare hardware. My Mac is approaching five years old. When I had my other windows laptops, when they were around four years old they would start acting strangely. I know Friends that have eight or nine-year-old Max that are running well but won't support the latest OSX. When somebody's getting a new computer, I recommend a Macintosh. But some of my friends are Fred to make the switch because of having to relearn things. Also the Mac is more expensive and they want to spend less on the computer. And some of my computer geek friends don't like the "control "that Apple has. Last night I had a strange dream. I dreamt that I was typing away on a laptop who's screen would not stay open and I had to lay it down flat on the table like an iPad. It didn't bother me though because I was listening to the voice and did not need to see the screen and an angle. I remember I was typing and all of a sudden realize that there was no voice feedback. When I checked to see if the computer was running it had crashed. I somehow knew that it was a Windows machine and wondered why I did not hear the sound I had originally used to tell me when the computer was crashing. I remember feeling frustrated and thinking that I should get a Mac. I just thought it was very weird to have this dream when my MacBook Pro is running well and I have not touched a Windows computer in about five years. Funny how the brain works.
